Some of the applications that we use only function with certain earlier versions of Mozilla Firefox.

Also, newer versions of Firefox have enhanced security features that automatically disable Java and media-rich content.

By disabling the silent updates Firefox will still be able to update itself, but you will now be prompted with a UAC dialog so that you are aware that an update is occurring.

You can disable silent updates using two methods, which are described below.

They are: local-settings.Both are text files which can be created with any text editor.
